At St. Columba's Church we encourage people to read a portion of the Bible each day. There are many versions of the Bible in print today, and available in all sorts of bookshops.
The version of the Bible we use at St. Columba's Church is the New Living Translation, or the NLT, for short. We do this because it is an easy-to-read modern English version of the scriptures, available in a wide range of printed and electronic formats.

The recent Gift Day in our church has seen a marvellously generous response from the people of St Columba's Church. I am delighted to say that our target of £20 000 has almost been reached. At the time of writing, the total stands in the region of £19 600 with the expectation of further gifts yet to come in.
The income from the Gift Day has been ear-marked for four purposes. The church property needs essential work to be carried out, including the renovation of the church foyer and improvements to the sanctuary. Our new and developing partnership with South Lunzu Church in Malawi will also benefit from the congregation's generosity. In addition, we are privileged to be able to support a number of missionaries. Income from the Gift Day will help us to offer better financial support. Finally, additional support for the church can now be paid for.
In the present economic circumstances, it is a quite remarkable amount of money to have given or pledged. I would like to congratulate the congregation for such generosity, and together, we give God all of the praise and the glory.
Your minister,
Louis Kinsey
