Our annual holiday club is one of the highlights of our church year. For a week in August the church is packed with over 120 children and at least 50 team members. It’s not something you want to miss!
Our holiday club in 2009 was called Champion’s Challenge. Perhaps our busiest ever with over 100 primary aged children, 30 3-5 year olds (in their brand new marquee!) and the Sunflower Tearoom buzzing with parents, carers and passers by! We enjoyed lots of sporting fun as we learnt about some of the amazing things Jesus did, the most amazing of course that he died on the cross – so that we can be God’s friend – and came back to life again. In the evenings the young people hung out in the Big Red Bus (kindly lent to us by Oasis Christian Fellowship).
Our family fun night on Friday night and our celebration service on the Sunday morning were a great end to the week. We’re looking forward to seeing most of these kids throughout the year – in our groups and in the schools.
We thank God for his goodness to us through the week, thank you to everyone who prayed. We saw many many answers to prayer.
