Introduction
Families are very important at St. Columba’s Church because families are important to God. His own son, Jesus, was born into a Jewish family and grew up in a family home in Nazareth, Israel. God knows about families, and wants to help and strengthen them.
Families come in all sizes, of course. There are large families and small families. Some of the families in our church are literally from other parts of the world, and some are local, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire families. There are many different accents and languages spoken in our church, and all combine to make one large family, the family of Jesus Christ.
We’d like you to come and join our church family. Bring your own family, if you can. Come and be a part of the great things that are happening at St. Columba’s Church.
Our church family is not perfect, though. We need to warn you about it. Honesty compels us! We’re only human. Sometimes we laugh together, or cry in one another’s arms. Sometimes we disagree and disappoint each other, but we see the great need to forgive and love one another. In a society where so many people fall out and never speak ever again, we are committed at St. Columba’s to being reconciled to each other and to defending the unity of friendship and fellowship that is so precious to us. We believe that this is the kind of lifestyle that brings respect to the name of Jesus Christ, and that is what we are all about.
Keswick
Each year for the past few years a group of us have attended the Keswick Convention, we’d love it if you were to consider joining us there next year.
The Keswick Convention runs over three weeks (we usually go for the middle week) and is a free event packed with great Bible Teaching. There are many session and seminars to choose from during the day and you can go to as many or as few as you fancy.

There is a children’s and youth programme so it is a great place for families as well as students, couples and the more mature! Keswick is a beautiful town in the Lake District and there are lots of things to do – boating, pitch and putt, tearooms, museums, swimming and icecream eating to name a few! We arrange our own accommodation – from camping to caravans to self catering cottages and you are welcome to spend as much or as little time with the bigger group as you choose.
