God always keep his promises!

The summer was busy here at St. Columba’s!  We were kept busy with our weekly “Summer Fun” activities, full to bursting with 130 children at our Champion’s Challenge Holiday Club and focussed on the faithfulness of God during our summer services themed on the Promises of God.  Our hope and prayer is that as well as providing a great time for every child who came along we provided a place for them to encounter God, to hear his voice, experience his love and grow in their faith.

Summer may be over but it’s not got any quieter!!  All our groups are up and running again, check out the information on them and come along, we’d love to see you.  Our schools ministry has started up for the new term and we’re especially looking forward to our Heroes week in October as we help the kids explore the meaning of All Saints Day.  There will be a Heroes party on Friday 31st October!  Look out for more information nearer the time.

If you’re in Primary 4 or older our weekend away will be March 6-8th 2009.  Put the date in your diary now!  It’s going to be a great weekend.

Children are important to us at St. Columba’s. We want every child to understand that they are unique, created by a loving God who has a plan for their lives.

Here is a quick summary of when each of our groups meet. Click on the links on the right hand side of this page to get more information on each group. We are sure that you will find at least one group that your child will enjoy.

Children are a very welcome part of our family here at St. Columba’s. We make a special effort to include them in our Sunday morning worship and you will often see many adults in the congregation joining in the action songs and clamouring to get a turn with one of the children’s percussion instruments!

We also have an active role in our 3 local primary schools fulfilling the role of School Chaplain. All four of our staff team regularly lead story time and assemblies helping the school to meet its RME curriculum and requirements for Religious Observance.

For more information on any of our activities for children please contact our Children’s Ministry Leader Sue Thomson at sue@stcolumbaschurch.org.uk.
