It is a long standing tradition in the Church of Scotland for flowers to be displayed during Sunday Church Service, and after the Service for the flowers to be distributed to members of the congregation who are unwell, bereaved, going through a tough patch or, more happily, are celebrating a special day or time in their lives.
St Columba’s Church aims to follow this tradition with the flowers being delivered by Church Elders usually immediately after Sunday Service. Appreciation of the flowers is very evident by the welcome Elders receive, and perhaps this lady has just received her flowers from her local Church! |

If any congregation member would like to donate either the flowers or money for Church flowers, please write your details against a vacant date on the Flower Rota, which is pinned on the notice-board to the right of the Vestry Door. Any Elder on duty will help if you are unable to locate this sheet.
There is a flower team in Church who will arrange flowers but if any member would like to flower arrange they are most welcome to do so. Contact will be made with you the week before your date to enquire if you wish to purchase your own flowers or would prefer to donate money for the flower arranging team to buy the flowers. |
